Q: When are you coming to do a show in my town?
A: This usually isn’t presented as a question. It’s more like “Come to Boonesville.” Or, “Why do you always go to Crapstown when you could come to West Crapstown?”
I’ve played big cities and small towns. Like Mankato, MN…in front of 800 people! Chilis had to shut down early for lack of business. But no matter what the size (or smell), I don’t necessarily “decide” where to do shows. I go where there’s a demand.
If you live in a city with a comedy club, get all of your friends to request me to the person who books the joint. That way, they know there’s a demand!
If you go to a college, university, high school, continuation school, etc., beg your activities board to give you a sip of Smooth-E. Again, the more people you can recruit, the better.
If your company or organization books entertainment, it’s only a natural to want to book me. March into your “fun committee” office and say, “I’ll quit unless you bring Smooth-E in for a show.” Good luck.
